What is Creative Commons |
 |
Creative Commons is a non-profit that aims to
expand the accessibility of creative works in order for others to
legally build and improve upon them. Through Creative Commons your
work is given an additional layer of copyright protection. By most
jurisdictions, copyright protection of creative works is automatic
once these works are fixed in tangible form (e.g. clicking the “save”
button on your computer, putting pen to paper, or taking a photograph).
Creative Commons does not replace a copyright; rather, Creative Commons
is based on copyright. Creative Commons licenses allow you to dictate
how others will use your works. For more information about Creative
Commons, please visit their website at creativecommons.org
